  • 3 medium size onions (1 ½ cup) sliced
  • 1-2 chopped green chillies (add more if you want)
  • ½ cup chickpea flour
  • ¼ cup wheat flour
  • ¼ cup rice flour
  • ½ tsp onion seeds
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp. Oil for moyan + oil for deep frying


  1. Add all dry ingredients into a mixing bowl, add oil and mix well.
  2. Add chopped green chilli and sliced onion, mix well with hand.
  3. Cover with lid and allow it to set at least for 30 minutes. By this onion will release its moisture.
  4. Then add water little by little and make a thick consistency batter.
  5. In a pan pour oil half of the way and heat the oil.
  6. Add spoonful of mixture into the hot oil and over medium heat let them cook for few minutes; flip them around until golden brown.
  7. Drain on paper towel lined plate and serve hot.
