Muchmuche Fulkopi Bhaja

Crispy Cauliflower Fries ( Muchmuche Fulkopi Bhaja ) are generally eaten as a  side dish  with Indian Daal Rice  or on their own as a snack.

Prep Time: 10 mins

Cook Time: 4-5  mins to fry each batch.

Ingredients :

  • 12 to 13  Cauliflower florets
  • 2 tbsp Rice flour
  • for seasoning,
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/4 to 1/2 tsp red Chilly powder
  • 1/4 tsp Onion seeds
  • Salt and Sugar to taste
  • Vegetable oil / any light l for frying

  1. In a cooking pan add water, cauliflower florets and salt, set the pan on the stove over high heat, when water comes to a rolling boil, reduce the heat to medium-low and cook for 5 -6 minutes or until cauliflower florets are almost cooked through, then drain them in a colander and let them cool to work further.
  2. Transfer the florets to a mixing bowl, rice flour and  add all seasoning, give a quick mix and set aside.
  3. In a frying pan heat oil  for shallow fry over medium heat, add marinated  florets to the hot oil and fry over medium low heat each side for 2-3 minutes then turn the other side ( to maintain the oil temperature, try to avoid  overcrowding  the pan), remove from oil, repeat the same process with remaining florets.
  4. Enjoy as a snack or as an appetiser.
