Spicy Grilled Chicken Salad

Serves: 4
Prep time : 5 minutes + 15 minutes for marination
Cook time: Approx. 10 minutes


  • Baby spinach washed and dried
  • Iceberg lettuce washed and dried
  • Handful Cherry tomatoes, cut into halves
  • Few slices of Red Onion
  • Chicken thinly sliced breast fillets 4 pcs little bit more than 600 gm
  • 2 Tbsp. curd
  • 1 tsp. ginger paste
  • 1 tsp. Garlic paste
  • 1 tsp. Cumin coriander powder
  • ¼ tsp. garam masala powder
  • ½ tsp. kasuri methi
  • 2 tsp. mustard oil for marination
  • ½ tsp red chili powder
  • Salt to taste

For Salad Dressing:

  • 1 ½ Tbsp Balsamic Vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp plain yogurt
  • ¼ tsp Garam masala powder
  • ¼ tsp roasted spice mix
  • Pinch of salt



  1. Add all spices, herbs, yogurt, oil and salt into a mixing bowl.
  2. Add Chicken fillets, mix very well and keep in refrigerator for 15 minutes.
  3. Preheat grill pan over medium heat, spread some mustard oil and heat it up to smoky hot.
  4. Add Chicken, cook each side for 4 to 5 minutes, or until cooked through.
  5. Wait till cool to touch, cut into bite size pieces.


  1. In a small bowl add all salad dressing ingredients together, mix well.
  2. In a mixing bowl add spinach, lettuce, tomatoes, onion slices toss everything together.

In a plate take some steamed Rice, top with a small cube of butter (optional), place chicken and salad into the same plate, drizzle some dressing on top of salad and Chicken.
