Sorshe Ilish bhapa

Prep time: 5-10 minutes
Cooking time: 10 minutes
Serve: 4

Ingredients:

  • 4 Hilsa cutlet pieces 80 gms each
  • 2 tsp yellow mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp black mustard seeds
  • 1/4 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tbsp mustard oil
  • Green chilli
  • Salt and Sugar to Taste

Method:

  • Step 1 : 1st remove scales from fish,clean & wash them.
  • Step 2 : By using paper towel soak extra water from fish.
  • Step 3 : Soak mustard seeds & cumin seeds into water for 15 to 30 mins.
  • Step 4 : Grind them with salt, green chilli & small amount of water.
  • Step 5 : Take a heavy bottom pan with lid, into it add paste,fish pieces, turmeric powder ,mustard oil & little water.
  • Step 6 : Marinate & cover it & keep aside for few minutes.
  • Step 7 : Set the pan on high heat, cook for few minutes, turn heat absolutely low & cook for about 3 to 4 minutes, then turn the other side, cook few minutes more & turn off the heat.
  • Give some standing time.
  • Serve with white hot rice.
